In order to work with SSL and dotDefender on IIS 5.0 and IIS 5.1, the order of the ISAPI filters on the web server must be changed according to the instructions below.
The high-priority IIS ISAPI filters (In IIS 5.0 - sspifilt and Compression; In IIS 5.1 - sspifilt, Compression and md5filt) should be executed before the three dotDefender ISAPI filters.
Note: If there are additional high-priority ISAPI filters, they should also be executed before the dotDefender ISAPI filters.

IIS 5.0

1. Open the IIS console
2. Right-click Internet Information Services>Properties.
3. Select the Internet Information Services tab.
4. Select the WWW Services in the Master Properties box and click Edit.
5. In the WWW Service Master Properties box, select ISAPI Filters tab.
6. Move up the two high-priority sspifilt and Compression ISAPI filters to the top of the list, so that they are executed before the dotDefender ISAPI filters.
7. Click Apply and then OK.

IIS 5.1

1. Open the IIS console
2. Right-click Web Sites>Properties
3. Select the ISAPI Filters tab in the Web Sites Properties box.
4. Move up the three high-priority sspifilt, Compression, and md5filt ISAPI filters to the top of the list, so that they are executed before the dotDefender ISAPI filters.
5. Click Apply and then OK.
