What does the term URI stand for in the custom rule configuration options?

Uniform Resource Identifier - A standard means of addressing resources on the Web.
For example, in the following URL : http://www.domain.com/bookstore/items/ , the URI is /bookstore/items/. All pages under this library will be included in the rule exception specified.
